At FamZ ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting the privacy of your family. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information.

1. Data Collection & Use

We collect specific types of data to provide our family management services. This includes:

  • Personal Information: Name, Email Address, and Profile Picture (via Google Sign-In) to create and identify user accounts.
  • Financial Information: We track allowance transfers, user-inputted expenses, and savings goals. We also collect images of receipts that you upload for OCR (Optical Character Recognition) processing to extract transaction amounts.
  • App Activity: We track task completion, points earned (Gamification), and calendar events to synchronize family activities.
  • Device & ID Information: We collect Device IDs and IP addresses for analytics, security, and push notifications.

2. App Permissions

Our app requests the following sensitive permissions:

  • Camera: Used to scan QR codes for quick child account login and to capture images of physical receipts for expense tracking.
  • Photo Library: Used to upload existing receipt images for expense tracking.

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with trusted third-party service providers to maintain app functionality:

  • Google Firebase: Used for Authentication, Cloud Database (Firestore), Analytics, and Crashlytics (Crash reporting).
  • OneSignal: Used to send push notifications for task updates and allowance alerts.

4. Children's Privacy

We take children's privacy seriously. FamZ offers a "Child Mode" designed for use by children.

  • Parental Consent: Child accounts are created strictly by the Parent/Guardian account holder. We do not allow self-registration for minors.
  • Data Visibility: Data generated by child accounts (tasks, wishlists) is shared only within the verified Family Unit. It is not made public or sold to advertisers.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You have the right to request the deletion of your data.

  • Delete Account: You can request account deletion directly within the App Settings or by contacting us at support@famz.app.
  • Upon deletion, all personal data, transaction history, and family links will be permanently removed from our servers after a grace period of 30 days.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for data in transit and secure storage measures. Authentication is secured via JWT (JSON Web Tokens).
